Fun Holiday Events to Enjoy in Pickens and Greenville
Christmas is just around the corner, and if you’re planning to celebrate in the Pickens or Greenville County areas, you’ll be pleased to know that there is no shortage of public events to take part in. If you’re looking for Christmas light shows and tours, the Pickens and Greenville Light Shows are taking place at the Greenville Pickens 
Speedway for the rest of the month, from Sunday to Thursday (5:45 pm to 10:00 pm), and Friday to Saturday (5:45 pm to 11:00 pm). There are also light shows taking place in Anderson starting at 5:30 pm, the Sound of Lights Shows starting at 6:00 pm, the Hollywild Animal Park starting at 6:00 pm, the Candlelight Christmas Evenings at Biltmore until January 5th, and the Roper Mountain Science Center has holiday laser shows on the 21st and 22nd.
The Peace Center Amphitheater is hosting an International Ballet and Greenville Symphony Orchestral performance of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. The event takes place December 21st from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. McAlister Auditorium at Furman University is also hosting a performance of Handel’s Messiah, by Christmas with the Chorale, on December 18th starting at 7:30 pm. You won’t want to miss the Hallelujah Chorus.
Also in Greenville is the St. Francis Festival of Trees taking place for the rest of the month, recurring daily. This is a free event that anyone can attend to stroll through the holiday trees adorned with decorations, as well as four hotels in Downtown Greenville, including the Hyatt Regency, the Hampton Inn, and Embassy Suites.
